emoticon to SparkPeople! Log everything that goes in your mouth and everything you do. Create a Spark Page and add friends because they are your best support on this site. Finally, stay active on the site. The more active you are on the site, the more you think about what you do during the day. I find that joining different team challenges make me think about it even more. Some challenges are about food, others are about activity. Good luck in your journey!

Hi LivinFit51,

First off warmest welcome to Spark People. It's going to be a hard journey but if you stay committed even when you fall off get right back on. Log log log, log everything as if you were writing a book about yourself. Food prep is a big key. Troll sites for recipes and plan meals for the week...Tupperware or brown bagging works. It's about 80-90% what you intake and the rest is activity. Try something new whether it be food or activity. In order for your body to change you have to change your mind. I can go on & on about what helped me loose 56lbs, you have to play around w/ what works for your body. Listen if you need an accountability partner let me know. I have a support page on Facebook (link below) if you ever need some daily inspiration, recipes or if you'd like to add some input on what helps you. Stay committed in this journey!!!

I just joined sparkpeople and am super excited! I just got my new book and started to read it last night. Looking forward to talking with all of you and learning any tips or suggestions along the way. Mostly I am looking to live healthier, and with less pain. I could lose about 25 pounds also. Sugar is my downfall. It is also a source of pain for me, it makes my arthritic condition worse. So, any help is greatly appreciated! emoticon
