Congrats! These are the exciting things we celebrate. Running 30 sec, 60 sec, 90 sec, 3 mins, 8 mins. That's how I became a runner. After carrying around various running books.... Beginner Runner, Couch to 5K, Everything a Woman Needs to Know about Becoming a Runner, Jeff Galloway book of Marathon Training... etc.... every other silly titled book about running.... for several years. I ran once and didn't like how it felt so I stopped. Then a few years later I did it again. This time running the way Jeff Galloway suggests, with walk breaks.... starting out running for 30 sec then increasing and walking between. Now I run 2-3 miles most days and on some nice refreshing rainy days (rain is my favorite way to run) I have run up to 4.5 miles. If I can do it.... formerly 230 lbs.... formerly couch bound.... formerly a non mover much less a non runner.... you can do it.
WooHoo !!!! Keep going! A little bit more every day! or even every other day! You don't have to go every day to make progress.

It wasn't far, but I did it! Thank goodness I have my husband to push and support me. We did a fast paced walk around the block, and when we finished up the loop, he noticed I wasn't breathing heavily. "It looks like we will be able to start jogging pretty soon," he had said. So...I said, why not?! Instead of jogging though, I ran my chubby little butt down one of the street and back. I felt like my chest was on fire, but I will definitely be doing it every night now. Hopefully getting further and further each time.
