Welcome to Sparkpeople!
I want to congratulate you on making this journey. I began my own journey a few years ago and though my pace has been slow I have lost over 100 pounds! You can have success too!
This is a great place to get healthy! There are so many tools, resources, and encouraging people to help you on your journey to "Health & Fitness". Be sure to poke around the site and try the nutrition and fitness trackers, Spark Recipes, Daily Spark, health articles, and secrets.
Joining a team will help you meet like-minded people that share similar life situations or goals. You can join mine to start. I share many helpful tips, recipes and insights from my own journey so you too can benefit. The DAILY CHAT section has lots of helps.

Hi, I'm really new at this whole thing. I've tried diets soooo many times, never too succeed. But you see, I have a husband that I adore, a daughter that is also my best friend and 3 wonderful grandkids that spend the weekends with me. So I have so many reasons to do this right, this time around. I'm at my heaviest since the mid 90's, that scares me. I've always been a big girl since I got married the first time way back in the 80's, gosh that was a long time ago. But I really want to change that. So here I am. I set myself a goal after the latest check up to lose to 149, I dont have to be bone skinny, I just want to be normal and healthy and able to keep up with the grand kids, and beautiful for my husband, and I want to do it for me, so I can grow older and be fit. Heck, I'm only a little past the halfway mark in life, I still have a lot of living to do, and I want to so enjoy the ride.
