Hi Jessaelinn Hope you at least enjoyed all the extra food. Congratulations on losing that 40lb. That's fantastic. And it real terms what you ate extra yesterday probably won't have even put one pound back on - so long as you don't go back to doing it every day. I agree that keeping all that food in the house is fatal - for me, if it's there I might eat it. If I go out and decide to have a McD meal or a piece of cake (both pretty rare occurrences) at least that's a decision to do that rather than eating mindlessly. Hope today goes a whole lot better for you. You never know, you might find that your big eating day tricked your metabolism into working a bit harder!!
The great thing about yesterday is that it is the past and we can get up today and start over by making choices that will benefit us. So, look at today as a new day and don't dwell on the bad choices you made yesterday. You have come so far already and you know what it took to get to this point so just keep moving forward! You are definitely not alone in having bad days.

Hey, first of all, congrats on being honest!! That is SOOOOO huge!!!! Right there, that was one super healthy thing to do so WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
So, you ate a bunch of junk and now you feel lousy. Maybe you were testing?? Maybe you wanted to see what it was like to eat like you used to? I agree with the other poster about stress and anxiety and the upcoming job, and I bet you are right that seeing those coworkers could easily have been a trigger. You are miles ahead by recognizing the behavior, admitting it, figuring out your trigger, and seeking help. How great is that??? You are probably doing way better than you would have in the past, right?? Give yourself some credit and look to the future. Really.
And now, right now, do something different. Get up and do something healthy. Maybe you need to throw out that junk food in your house. Get it out into the trash and as far away as possible. If it's there, it's going to tempt you. Set yourself up for success by removing the stumbling blocks. Why leave temptations around??? If you have kids or a hubby in the house, who cares? Get rid of that junk food for them, too!! They sure don't need that stuff and too bad if they whine about it. Time to do something different. Go for it!!!!
Hang in there Jessaelinn and KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!

I think we all have days we get stressed out and over eat. One day or even one week of less than healthy eating habits WILL NOT make or break your healthy lifestyle.
I'm a firm believer that stress is a neglect aspect of weight gain. If a person could reduce their stress, they'd automatically reduce their waistline. I know what it's like to be laid off and spend months looking for work. Once you find a job, the couple of weeks before you start IS loaded with lots of stress and anxiety.
Don't beat yourself up because you over ate today. Instead, do your best to try to reduce your stress so that you don't feel an urge to hit the frig. Take a walk. Walking is not only great cardiovascular exercise, it's a great way to reduce stress too. Hit the gym for a workout. sit and sip a cup of tea. listen to your favorite music. read an interesting book. In short, keep your mind busy so that you're not worried. Because when we become anxious, we do tend to turn to food for comfort.
So, put the day behind you. you ate the food. you log the food. You move on with life.
Congratulations on the new job !

In addition to healthy choices, I also had 3 hot dogs, 10 marshmallows, 2 bacon, 3 oz cheese, butter, 6 pcs jolly ranchers candy, fries, soda all in one day. I decided to just eat whatever I wanted for the day, but I have stuffed myself since about 11am and through this afternoon with all that stuff. I am so full, yet i managed to down the leftover canned fruit, plus the light syrup that it came from. geeze... I figured I was thirsty because of all the salty foods. I am trying not to lose control. I am laid off of work right now, and due to go back soon, but I don't want to. I saw three of my coworkers today in the store, mabye that set it off. But how do you let yourself have a relax day without losing control???? Ahhh....
I am so happy that I have lost 40 pounds, but recently, the scale went up 4 pounds, and I was eating good!! I know it's normal for weight to fluctuate, and I am not obsessing about the scale, I have decided not to step on it as often, measuring how I feel and look, rather than how I weigh. But I have a habit of overeating, and I'm working through it, it is just hard.
