I had a football party last night (first Husker game of the season). I am aware that parties are tough for me because when there is food sitting around I eat, and eat, and eat, and eat...you get the picture.
Was I perfect last night? No. I went over my daily calories by about 100. I had an extra beer (I was only going to have two) and I did have a few chips (10 to be exact).
BUT here is what I did right: I ate a filling and healthy protein meal late afternoon so that I would not be ravenous when I got there. I have the fajitas without a tortilla or cheese (yes I did put some sour cream on, but what's a girl to do?), and I had a bit of the broth based soup with corn, beans and chicken.
Typically I would have warfed down as many chips, guacamole, and cheese as I wished. I would have loaded a tortilla with beef, cheese, sour cream and said to heck with the consequences. So while I did not exercise complete and utter self control I made astounding improvements that impressed myself!
I also picked an activity today that required my daughter and I to walk two miles. I had not planned any exercise today, so I got a little in to help make up for yesterday.
