Heather has given you some great advise. I have also put in a link for beginner strength training. You can certainly start without a gym, and even without any equipment.

Besides these articles, check out the video section that Coach Nicole leads. She has some great workouts, some with equipment and some without. She is fun to workout with, and can give you a pretty good idea of what you need to be doing.

Hope this helps,
Judi

Basically, yes. I would suggest posting over in the Fitness forum for good advice on a program. You definitely don't need a gym to get fit! While there's no way to target fat loss, you can absolutely improve muscle tone and get rid of that "skinny fat" - here's a great article to start you off:

I don't think you can do much of anything in two months. :) Flat bellies are more about body fat percentage, and both strength training and fat loss takes time. I think you should abandon the time-based goals, and focus on slow and steady progress. This isn't a race!

find people who are on SparkPeople who live in your area. Check them out and maybe you will find a new friend.

So basically I need to focus on toning? I haven't thought of that before really so thanks for bringing it up! =] So strength training exercises and all would help me to look less "skinny fat" I guess is the term? I am very short waisted and my weight sort of centrals around my waist =/ I guess instead of going for a number on my scale i am more so going for a "look"... i want my tummy to be flat and my arms to be more toned... that is about the only things I am not happy with... I know what cardio is but I am not too familiar with strength training... is this something I can accomplish without a gym? Is a flat tummy and toned arms a goal that is reachable within 2 months? I just want to be healthier in general =)

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that you are going to be able to lose 10 pounds in 2 months. Frankly, you're not fat enough. ;) You can attempt to lose roughly 3% of your remaining weight to lose each week... which means at the most, maybe .25 - .30 pounds per week, for you.

You're also still in a very healthy body weight. You're on the low end of normal. Going to 85 would put you BELOW normal, at 17.8, which is underweight and not at all healthy, even for your height. Attempting to lose more than 10 pounds would be very dangerous. I think that the numbers at your point don't matter much, and you're going to have a hard time losing much weight. Have you thought about instead working on strength training, and building muscle? It would help you look better in the skin you're in.

Perhaps it might do better to focus on body composition? Have you had your fat percentage checked?

Hi everyone! My name is Ashton and I am 22 years old. I took on a desk job a little over a year ago and since then I have put on 10 lbs...argh! ... I am just looking to lose those 10 lbs maybe a little more once I hit that goal, not sure yet... anyhow I have a very small frame (4'10 and abt 95 lbs right now) ... Please do no judge ppl, remember I have a small frame so a few lbs makes a big difference on me. (sorry dont mean to get defensive =/ ) I am trying to lose 10 lbs in about 2 months. Are there any other ppl who are only wanting to lose a little bit of weight like me? Any possibly other small ladies who understand where I am coming from?? I have never really exercised much before unless you consider exercising horses exercise lol =) So any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, I have a hip replacement so running is sort of a no can do bc it is high impact, but I am pretty much game for any other suggestions anyone may have! =)
