They pay it out through paypal

It's only $5, so it's not a terrible loss/win, however it ends up- at least in my opinion. But agreed, everyone has varying ideas of what's realistic and 1% per week may be too aggressive, but I like a challenge to see what I'm capable of.

And it's probably not right for everyone- but the premise is like an office biggest loser style competition- minus the office- which is nothing terribly new.

The way I look at it, it'll be nice to get a few extra dollars to motivate me to keep doing what I'm already doing!

Good questions from WaterDiamonds

I don't like to set myself unreachable limits, because I never know if life will get in the way.
What I do, instead, is set healthy goals - eating enough veggies, balance, etc.

Hope it works for you, if that's what you need.

First, I'm wondering how you get the $ if you win? Are you all sending $ in to a central location or just making the promise to honor the bets?

Second, I follow the SMART guidelines for goal-setting--Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and TImely--so I wouldn't set a time-restrictive goal such as 4% in 28 days, because, for me, that's not realistic.

But if this idea works for you, go for it.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not selling anything/ I don't get anything from you visiting the site. I just wanted to mention this.

So I heard about this through a youtube health guru, SaraFit( ). It's basically a contest sort of thing where you basically bet against yourself (and other people) to win money. You have to lose 4% of your weight in 28 days and then you split the "pot" with whomever else reaches their goal. The bets are anywhere from $5 to ridiculous. And really you're just betting against yourself, but if other people aren't as successful you actually get a tangible reward.

I've been in a bit of a slump the last few weeks and I'm hoping this will kickstart my motivation. So the link to the one I joined is below. It'd be cool to start a SP dietbet.

So we'll see!
