I read a book of biographies of people who were living happy and healthy lives at age 100 or older, but in their younger days most of them had experienced major health scares and life-threatening illnesses such as multiple cancer recurrences, multiple heart attacks, chronic illnesses such as your diabetes and COPD, etc. Yet, they handled the problems and lived "worthwhile" lives to age 100 and beyond! They never gave up!
That book has given me so much hope, and helps me to avoid saying things like "It's too late" or "It's over".
You've just given me inspiration today! It sounds like you have several challenges, but you can baby step your way through them!
Please tell me what resources you have to help you. Do you have access to exercise machines that give you a workout without hurting your hips? Is hip surgery an option for you? Do you follow every instruction from your doctor re: food, medication and exercises that will control your diabetes and COPD and lessen their symptoms?
