With your grit and determination, you sound like more than an "average guy" to me. An average guy might not have bothered to make the effort to change their lives to meet their goals, but you did! emoticon

Hey – great going… What a great sense of achievement you must be feeling.
One could say - ‘Welcome to the land of the Living’, and I bet that’s just about how you are actually probably feeling.
Pretty sad when we for whatever reason sometimes have to set ourselves aside from others.. But now I can imagine just to be included would be a great accomplishment. You’ve really proved your worth – so much more than many other may ever do… cheers....

Hi Miclwilde,
This is the first time I'm replying to a message post...
but just wanted to tell you... that you're NOT an average guy...cause that connotes that you're ordinary ..and there is nothing ordinary about what you have achieved.
You left being average the day you decided to do something about yoru life.
I congratulate you.

Great job!

I think what you are doing qualifies as "above average". The average person does not take the initiative to get their life back or alter it's coarse.

Keep motivating people.

Like many of us here, that's what I've always wanted to be - an average guy - just like everyone else.

I never felt like everyone else though - until now.

Last Friday I passed that physical agility test for East Jefferson Fire and Rescue. I never would have even attempted this before. I always wanted to do it, but I always told myself that I'm too fat, too slow, too weak - I'm just being silly even thinking about facing any sort of physical fitness test.

I always thought that passing physical tests was something that other people did and that I would never be one of those people, but I did it. I am one of those people.

I'm not in top condition, I still have weight to lose, I may never be the fastest or the strongest, but at least I can look at myself now and feel as though I am like other people. I've never felt normal before in my life. Just feeling like an average guy is an amazing feeling.
