Hello, fellow sparkies! Just a quick greeting and to say I've missed the spark. This past August, I began training for my first half marathon. Tried minimalist running shoes and running barefoot. on concrete, mostly. NOT a good plan. The marathon was in November and I did better than my expected goal of 2:45, by about five minutes.....however, as a result of training in those shoes, I now have a diminishing(thank the Lord!) case of Plantar Fascitis, as well as really painful right knee (probably ilio-tibial band strain). So, at almost 50 years old, I can say "I've run a mini marathon!". my best advice to those whose goals are similar: think real hard about why you are doing it, and please wear cushioned shoes! OK, I've begun the spring boot camp training with Coach Nicole's videos and did the 12 minute pilates core as well as "day 1" of the challenge Today. So far, so good! I must admit, however, that i don't really envision becoming the next sports illustrated model by the beginning of summer, but it sure would be nice to lose about 5-10 lbs. of belly fat. Thanks so much for being my non biased place to go for quality work outs and inspiration!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
