I started my weight loss journey last july and have lost 65 pounds which I have had to work hard for since I turned 44 this year. The main thing that I noticed is that I wasn't eating the proper portions and when I started paying attention to portion size and what I was putting in my mouth is when the weight started to come right off. Hang in there and keep patient.

All programmes are only as good as the work you put into them. It probably is harder now, because of your age, your demotivation and your expectations. Getting older means we have to work harder for the weight loss, the great skin, the grey-free hair (am I making sense?). My loss before I turned 30 was way bigger and way quicker than this time round. Like you, I've picked up some and haven't got back to my heaviest before doing something about it... And it is tougher this time round. But I've done it before and I'll do it again!!! Try to keep temptation away (definitely out of your home) and reward yourself with spa treatments or new, smaller clothes. Set yourself realistic, achievable goals and celebrate each milestone you reach!! And, above all, be kind to yourself...

It just seemed like the weight melted off before... now it won't come off (I may be exaggerating). I just have a lot of trouble with staying motivated and not splurging on ice cream and things.
Age probably plays a role. I've noticed that being in the 40s now. However, are you doing everything that you were doing before or are you cutting corners? I wasn't measuring my food and trying to eyeball it. Eyeballing was not working for me.

This isn't my first time trying to lose a substantial amount of weight. In fact, I did an awesome job starting back in 2007, and managed to go from 340 to 180 here on SP. As my ticker shows, I have since put 100 pounds of that awesome loss back on (not even sure what happened there). Anyway, I've tried and tried to get the weight coming off again, and this time is so much harder than that time was. Is it because I'm 35 years old now? What gives?
