WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. By joining SP you made the first step on your journey to better health! Tracking your nutrition and exercise/activities on the "my Nutrition" and "myFitiness" trackers is key to success. Familiarize yourself with it and use it daily. Also, get active! Join a SparkPeople team of your interest for great challenges to get you started. There is a team for everyone, no matter how much we weigh or what our physical abilities are. Team members offer an abundance of support, encouragement, and advice. You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.

A healthy lifestyle is a process - more of a journey than a destination. SP with all its features and tools can help you along the way and with the support of its members, well, it's a recipe for success!
Surveys have shown that participants in Message Boards lost more weight and stayed with their program longer than non-participants so come by as often as you can. Here at SP you'll find all kinds of motivation and support from people who have similar goals as you do. We are all taking this journey together and we truly want to see each other succeed!!

HELLO MY NAME IS RAKEYA AND I'M A MOTHER OF TWO WONDERFUL BOYS AGES 14 AND 7 AND I'M A GIRL FRIEND TO A LOVING MAN THAT BEEN HERE AND LOVED ME FOR WHO I'AM THE LAST 2/12 YRS THEY MAKE ME SO HAPPY BUT THERE A FEW FLAWS THAT I'M NOT HAPPY WITH AT ALL AND THAT'S MY BODY I'AM 299 POUNDS AND I'M REALLY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHERE ALL OF THIS WEIGHT COMING FROM SEE I HAVEN'T ALWAYS BEEN THIS BIG INTEL I STARTED HAVING KIDS AFTER MY LAST CHILD WAS BORN I STARTED TO HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS AND THEN CAME THE SEVERE DEPRESSION MY DOCTOR NOW TELLS ME THAT I HAVE P C O S WHICH IS POLICY OVARY SYNDROME AND PRE-DIABETES AND FROM WHAT THEY SAY THAT ITS REALLY HARD TO LOSS WEIGHT WITH THIS DISEASE I GUESS THAT WHAT U CAN CALL IT BUT I'AM TIRED OF LETTING THIS GET THE BEST OF ME. SO I'M GOING TO FIGHT THIS BATTLE HARD TO REGAIN MY HEALTH ON THIS SITE AND TI GET ALL OF THE ADVICE I CAN GET TO HELP ME LOSS
