I could name things all day long that I eat that works, but you may not like them. What you have to do is research what low cal foods are out there that you like to eat. And for the ones you don't really like to eat, try new things with them. It's amazing what a bit of spice can do to a food.

fruit strips, sweet, but few calories, and serving of fruit (go with all fruit, no sugar added)

or make your own, my wife makes them for me from left over fruit (or fruit salad), blend in vitamix, add a little honey, then spread on sheet and cook on low heat for 4 hours

Caffeine. I skip breakfast most days and sometimes lunch. Caffeine and sugar free gum make it relatively easy.

Those are good ideas, the sugar free gum has been helping lately. I try to time my meals/snacks all out but then i feel i'm just staring at the clock. Maybe i'll just start sneaking extra breaks away from my desk.

Ultimately, I strive to not eat out of hunger. I do that by carefully planning out when I am going to eat during the day and what so that I get what I need and it's spaced out.

In a pinch, I concur with sugar free gum. Raw vegetables is your next best bet as they are difficult to eat massively quickly and they're not calorically dense.

Sugar-free candy and gum? uhmmm... coffee, or anything like cauliflower, broccoli, etc WITH chile powder and lemon emoticon
that's what works for me

carrot sticks do the trick for me. They taste vile, but makes the hunger go away.

This is a hard one for me, too. I try to have some mixed nuts, or a greek yogurt. I alos try to space out my eating- a late morning snack like a hard boiled egg or 2; then lunch (packed- turkey wrap w/ low fat cheese and mustard, along with an apple, carrots, and Triscuits or something else salty); a later afternoon snack of greek yogurt, nuts. Something like that.

Guys, what are your suggestions for eating when I'm bored at work? Is there something that is filling but not terrible for me? Sometimes I just can't shake the boredom/hunger.
