When I get really discouraged and start hating myself or throwing a pity party I take a sheet of notebook paper (lined) and starting on the top line I write:
I am thankful for _____ and you HAVE to write a line on EVERY line of the paper ALLL the way down.
I am thankful for my job, I am thankful for my home, I am thankful for my kittens, ...my sister, my nieces, my country not being at war within its borders, that I have plenty of food, that I have a bed to sleep in, that I have access to an education, that I was able to go to school and get my diploma, ...)
See, a LOT of people in this world are living without what we consider basic necessities.
This gets me out of my "funk" and once I've done that then it's a lot easier to kick myself in the tooshie and get back on track with things that are LUXURIES... having a gym to go to; being able to walk around the block without fear of soldiers, bombs, muggers; to have fruit and vegetables; to have fresh potable water to drink that is readily available and abundant. Again, things a LOT of people in this world don't have.
It's a lot easier to realize and turn our "have tos" into "get tos" when we think about life in this manner.... having an attitude of gratitude. As Madame Blueberry found out, a thankful heart is a happy heart.

I like to check in with friends who I know support me with my healthy lifestyle journey. I did that this morning as a matter of fact, and two of them texted me support that I needed.

We all have days when we aren't feeling the love. As long it happens once in a while, that's fine. It happens. Let it go. What you don't want is to have these feelings on a regular basis. Then there is a problem.

Just know that a thought is just a thought. It will pass and it's not a truth and it's not your reality, it's just your mind running away with itself. Try to keep that in mind the next time a discouraging thought pops up.

Sometimes I feel so determined and positive but other times I get discouraged. I was feeling really discouraged today because I couldn't find anything decent to wear for a job prospect. I felt much better after I worked out at the gym but I don't know how to deal with the days when I get discouraged. How do you deal with those days?
