Nice article. I guess that is how my parents brought me up. Thanks Mom and Dad.

In the end, the best things in life came from our own inner growth and that came from dealing with things that we wish didn't exist and making them better. So in that way, bad things are a huge blessing.

Good article. However, one thing to point out is that your daughters and sons are going to ask about body image because it's plastered all over the media. When they do, have an honest frank conversation with them about it.

I try to do all of these things. I focus on how great a healthy lifestyle is rather than complain about the things I can't control.

That is a great article! My daughter is about to be 13-years old (tomorrow!) and she is much more concerned with body image than I would like. I have always done my best to talk about being "healthy" and not focus on her looks but she is really beautiful and everyone always focuses on her looks! I worry that she will become shallow and have worked very hard to make sure she knows that health and a good personality are more important than appearance. It is certainly getting harder every day as she enters her teen years!
