Thanks for being our eyes out there since there are SO many pages and it is hard for our small staff to catch everything.

Good luck with your goals!

I am extremely impressed. I took a url of the ad and sent it into sparkpeople as a bad ad and got a personal response within 24 hours that they had other complaints about it and have taken it down and I haven't seen it yet. Amazing service. Thanks sparkpeople!!

I felt the same way about the "Unfriending" ad - I feel that is very inappropriate on SP.

I have occasionally commented using that link on ads that I felt were offensive and have received a response, so urge everyone to make use of it as needed.

SparkPeople does maintain a high level of standards for ads. Because we oppose diet pills, for example, we turn down revenue and sponsorships from diet pill companies on a regular basis. While we don't necessarily endorse every product that is advertised on our website, we do our best to block ads that are misleading, unsafe, offensive or contradictory to our medically-accepted recommendations for healthy living and weight loss.

You can learn more and report any ads you find concerning via this article.

This may sound silly but I don't even see the ads, as in I don't read them. If something pops up I look for the "X" box so I can get back to what I'm looking at. And somehow I have totally blocked out the one across the top etc.

This may not help you as everyone has different levels of blocking things.

I totally understand the need for ads and don't even mind considering some of the products. However, I come to sparkpeople for a positive experience and do not need large print 3 people unfriended you find out why or ads for bariatric surgery. Is there a way to get rid of the negative ads that seem to threaten to make this site like every other one on the web? I want to keep it positive and happy when I am at sparkpeople. Thanks
