I feel it was pretty successful. Got a different mind-set. It is really not about the scale, but about having an all around healthy lifestyle and being more aware of the choices that I make.

i am almost back to the weight i was when i started in january. bugged the starch out of me that i gained almost seven pounds when i started eating more fruits, veggies and protein. i am drinking a lot more water and exercising about five times a week. it's a good start.

I had a fantastic January. I completed 31 days of fitness and feel great. I did not lose any weight, because I am in the maintenance stage. I have lost 20 lbs and that is all that I can afford to lose. I am more into toning by adding weights.

January 2014 was very successful. I lost 12 pounds and I was able to have a 30 day streak of not drinking Coke. emoticon

I lost 6 lbs though my tracker doesn't show it. Did not reset it when I restarted.

I had a stressful month dealing with a big change in my cancer treatment, and car trouble, but despite that, I was able to maintain my goal weight. I am right on track (in fact, a little ahead of schedule) with my fitness minutes as far as meeting my yearly goal, and I only missed 3 days of working out.

I had a late start. Not sure why but I was just having the worst time trying to get back on the wagon after the holidays. But I have successfully gotten back on and I have lost the 3 lbs gained and 2 extra!

was doing so well till the last weigh in...feeling discouraged but trying hard to look forward and keep on going...lost 9 pounds but then gained back so now only have lost 7...don't know as to why I have been very careful with my tracking and have had lots of workouts burning some good calories...

January of 2014 was better than this time last year and yet not as good as it could have been. That's not to be down on myself but rather factual reporting of not accomplishing Nutrition and Fitness goals I thought I would have.

The good news is that this is the first day of a new month & I can make better choices.

This is the best January I've had in ten years. Not only did I start exercising consistently again and started seeing a personal trainer, I've also lost 8 pounds. In addition, I'm finally getting my life together in terms of organizing my personal space and staying productive. I hope the rest of 2014 is like this!!

Overall, January was a pretty good month for me,

Mixed - really got my exercise minutes in despite snow and cold that kept me exercising indoors for most of the time. Logged my first full month on SparkPeople too. Not so hot nutrition wise - not terrible just ate too much overall - I get hungry when I step my exercise routine. February gets nutrition on track again.

Not great. I was sick for most of the time after Christmas and the cold weather made me hungrier than usual.(or is that a myth?)

Most if it it was snowy and very chilli with winds that kept me indoors

pretty good as I got over 3,300 fitness minutes during January.

2/1/14 10:29 A

Mine was very good. I kept up my good habits of working out and eating well for the most part.

I cut out sugar and upped my vegetable intake. I was mindful of eating real foods and only to satisfy hunger or my body's actual needs. This month felt good. The best part is I lost 5 lbs this month. :)

bad....I injured my lower back, near the site of my old back surgery, and I am slowly healing. What is worse, is the fear of doing more damage; I am reluctant to do as much exercise as I would like. This train is at a slow crawl right now. I've got to strengthen my lower back .

SO SUCCESSFUL! I really surprised myself. I guess I didn't really expect to lose weight, I was just trying to be healthier and do healthier things. I literally just cut out sugar and sweet products, nothing else. I am SHOCKED that I lost 8lbs with just cutting out sugar. It clearly means that I was getting way too many calories from sugar.

I hope everyone else was as successful as I was!

January was a busy month. I had a cold that lasted a little over a week. I started decluttering the house. Started on the fourth floor and in the attic spaces. Not done with the fourth floor.

I weighed 165 at the end of December. I weigh 161 at the end of January. So, weight loss this month, slow but steady. As long as I'm trying to make healthy choices and moving in the right direction, I'm happy about it! emoticon

Way to go, Roxy Angel, 9 lbs loss in a month, you are doing great! emoticon

Fantastic! I only set one goal - walking 10,000 steps per day. It was a bit of a stretch but not so much that it felt impossible. 31 days of stretching myself to a comfortable point. First time I've ever had an exercise streak last so long.

I've had a terrible January -- gained a little over 2 pounds even though I tried hard. It scares me to think that I am starting to re-gain everything I worked so hard to lose.

It is holiday time here in New Zealand and I was a bit too lazy. Probably should have used my time more constructively.

I worked out 23 days (tonight will make it 24). That's pretty good, but not great for me.

most of my workouts have been spin class and boot camp. I want to get back to running. I did walk 4 mi last night after work (way too many layers and icy sidewalks to attempt running).

I printed some upcoming 5k entry forms today. I'm also going to upgrade to premium RunTastic for the training programs. I'll use the possible upgrade for my Zombies, RUN! program as a reward.

I just felt better about myself when I ran. For me, nothing else is as effective. So I gotta get back to it...and I'll pretty much be on my own this time around.

So far in January (not including today's workout!) I logged 1340 minutes. I plan on doing a 60-minute yoga class tonight after work. That's the most fitness minutes I think I've ever had in a single month!

I also made some good choices this month when it comes to food. I significantly increased my fruit and veggie intake since I bought a Nutribullet.

All is well.

I lost about 10 lbs in January, turned 59 but feel like I'm 30 and all areas of my life are going good. I still haven't gotten myself back into weight lifting, it's on my list, but I will get to it soon.

1/31/14 6:28 A

Fitness & health-wise January has been extraordinary for me but not because of a new years' resolution I never have done that, it was just an epiphany I had after the holidays that it was time to shred. I had worked hard all 2013 to reach my goal of gaining as much muscle mass as I could for my age & effort and I did it. My shoulders are massive for my size, my legs and butt are shaped the way I like them (no butt in the past) and my chest is meaty BUT......I kept a man belly to help my body endure the punishment I put it through to get to my goals.

Now it has to go! I am down almost 8.5 lbs since the day after Christmas and NO STARVING DIET SHORTCUTS, just portion control and snacking down to a bare minimum. I have a solid 15lbs more to lose!

How was your January!?
