It took my 3 whole months to lose a single pound, though I had other changes that were measurable (went down a size, lost inches, could walk up a hill without keeling over). I was a bit frustrated that the scale didn't move in those 3 months, but it was hard to stay frustrated when I needed to go clothes shopping to replace my baggy stuff!

I saw the initial 5 pounds after i started the first week, the second week was another 2 pounds, then it slowed down to a crawl. Over the last 6 years I have been on this website, i have lost, gained, lost and gained the same 50 pounds. I have changed eating habits, exercise habits, tracked, didn't track, exercised, didn't exercise, drank water, gave up soda, gave up refined sugar,
Now I have changed again and weightloss isn't my sole reason anymore. My main reason for being on any journey is to get healthy. You can't be healthy and obese (its an oxymoron). So if I focus primarily on getting healthy, the weightloss and fitness will fall into place.

I started seeing weightloss about 2 weeks into Sparkpeople. That is when I bumped up my water intake to a minimum of 8oz of pure water (not crystal light, unsweetened tea or coffee) and not eating past 7pm at night. After I did those things, the weight started coming off fast. Small changes = Big results! Good luck and you can do it!

I lost 55 pounds in 11 months before I found SparkPeople to maintain that loss.

In August it will be my emoticon

The patience, perseverance and consistently I learned in the time it took to lose that weight has made maintenance easy. It takes practice to learn a new lifestyle. And it is worth it!! emoticon

How long did it take for you to loose weight, after you signed up with Sparkpeople?

I signed up like 1 1/2 weeks ago and today i weight myself, i did not loose nor did i gain any weight. I don't know if i should be happy about it or not. Maybe i also should start measuring myself to see if i loose any inches.
