I'm one of those lucky people who see results very quickly; unfortunately, I also gain very quickly if I'm not paying attention, so it's not all good. ;) Many people take a long time to start seeing results, though. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks, sometimes even longer, as DRAGONCHILDE said. Two months seems like *forever* when you're working hard to make healthy changes, but in the larger scale of things, it's really just a short transitional period.

If you're losing weight healthfully, you're losing less than 2lbs per week, so it's very easy for those results to "hide" for a little while. It happens for a whole host of reasons, frequently relating to water retention. Something as simple as your sodium or fiber levels can cause bloating, as can normal hormonal fluctuation. Increasing exercise makes your muscles swell and retain even more water temporarily; I once "gained" five pounds from *one* particular intense workout. Increasing certain types of exercise can also cause muscular gains, although these tend to be small and slow going, particular for females, and eating at a deficit makes them even slower. But since muscle weighs more than fat, if you burn fat and gain muscle you can show a net neutral or even a net gain. That is probably not the case after only one week, but it isn't 100% impossible and it's definitely something you might notice over a longer period of time.

Just stick to it. It would be very motivating to get big numbers every week, but it's not to be expected.

It can take as much as 6-8 weeks for healthy lifestyle changes to show up on the scale. :) Especially when you add exercise into the mix.

Edit: And yes, it does go slower the less you have to lose. There's a point where cutting too many calories is detrimental and can slow progress.

Thanks! I've cut a lot of calories,plus walking 40minutes a day. Just disapointed, maybe as I don't have much to loose itl go slower? Only want to loose about 6kilos!

I've heard for plenty of people it does, especially those who just started an exercise program. I lost weight as soon as I started cutting calories.

Hi, I've been following the diet for just over a week and haven't seen any difference in my weight, does it take a few weeks to come into effect, ie is this normal?
