I work in IT for physician offices, so most of my time is spent sitting at my desk doing callbacks to the offices and following up on the issues they're having. Need to get more active though...

I'm a structural engineer/inspector so my time is split about 50/50 between outside and in the office. The pros of being outside are that I'm out in the fresh air moving around and sometimes climbing on stuff but lunch tends to be fast food since we're in the middle of the work day. When I'm in the office I'm at my desk but I can pack my lunch so it balances out in the long run.
I work as a counselor in a supported apartment program for adults who have mental illnesses. I spend most of my time sitting in the office but occasionally have to take someone shopping. The other day I saw a Shake Weight underneath someone's desk. That was pretty funny. Maybe I should take some dumbbells to work!
Currently I am a receptionist. I know I gained about 10 pounds in the 3 years since being there. But I know that I walk more at work than I did when in college or if I just hung around the house. I have to make copies, go back and do stuff for the boss, take care of people who come in ect. I pack my lunch every single day. I pack a yogurt, a salad for lunch and something like nuts, popcorn, crackers ect to snack on if I need extra snack. Only occasionally do I order something out with them. And that is maybe 3x a month or less. I try to stick to foods I bring. I chew gum, and I drink tea and lots of water. Occasionally they bring in things they make and I don't always eat that. If I don't like it I don't eat. If I like it I eat a little. Today someone had no bake cookies....I LOVE no bake cookies-my favorite. and if I make them or buy them I will eat the whole container...so yes I had 1 cookie, but only 1 cookie!! I also aim to workout regularly. Right now my goal is to workout 100 days in a row and I am on day 20 something.

We all have different occupations, some of which could be detrimental to our goals due to coworkers, office temptations, on the go vs stationery, etc. What is your job and how do you cope with the challenges of your workplace? I own a residential cleaning business with my best friend, so I am in and out of the car all day. We would stop everyday for lunch or breakfast prior..now I stopped being lazy and packed my lunch the night before, made a smoothie in the morning, and grabbed a snack and a ton of water to keep in my car.
