I love chocolate too. I'm not a big eater of other sweets, but chocolate is my absolute favorite.
Here are some things that helped me.
1) Quit chocolate. It sounds weird, I felt like I went through a "withdrawal from chocolate". After a week or so, the cravings subsided.
2) Learn to replace the chocolate cravings with something else. For me, a green tea with mild caffeine and mint helped. It replaced the ritual of chocolate and was somehow soothing.
3) Enjoy chocolate in moderation. I think it is important to eat the things you enjoy as long as they don't trigger you. Chocolate and I now have a better relationship, but if I eat too much of it, I return to step #1.
I've loved chocolate since I was a skinny kid and I know we'll be together forever.
