That is really challenging. Have you thought of ways to incorporate your kids into your day? I mean things like family outings (depending on the ages of the school age kids), biking with them, going somewhere and hiking, playing at a playground with them, etc. I also mean that you can take them shopping for ingredients for making some meals together - when kids help prepare healthy foods, they are also more likely to eat them. When you find ways to keep the kids occupied and doing things together, you will find there is probably less bickering, anger, fighting, yelling, etc. Instead of trying to focus on YOUR(singular) needs try to focus on YOUR(plural) needs and actually find things to do that help them to MEET YOUR(personal) needs.
With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

I am a stay at home mom I have a lot of trouble staying motivated when my kids get home from school and on the weekends. I start my days the same logging on to SP reading motivational stories and I feel wide awake until I see that one of my children are awake then I feel instantly zapped of all energy I had. I need a way to stay focused when my kids are around.
