So today is my third day in a row of logging onto sparkpeople and tracking my food emoticon I'm trying really hard to make those baby step towards working out again. I know once I do it I'll be fine and I'll eventually start enjoying it again but it sure is hard getting and staying motivated. I'm just really happy to be a part of this community where I know I'm not alone in this.

Just one step at a time. Remember that you are worth taking the time to log your food, to exercise, and to treat yourself with kindness. Losing weight will be a hell of a lot easier if you are kind and loving to yourelf. Just start slowly. You've done it once and you can do it again!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm definitely taking baby steps towards getting back in the habit. I'm starting by logging in everyday to read articles and stories to motivate me, and while I'm here I'll hopefully start tracking my food again.

she is still there. She is hiding inside you. It is time to bring her back out. Take it in baby steps. Promise to log at least three days every week. Promise to exercise at least three times a week. You'll get back in the habit again.

Really think about WHY you are doing this. Is it for you? Is it for your health? Children? Friends? Co-workers? Feel healthy? If you don't know WHY you are on this journey, you won't succeed. That may seem harsh, but keep that reason in the forefront of your mind. When you don't think you can do one more squat look at that reason and do 5 more. When you don't think you have time to log food or exercise, look at that reason and overcome it.

Unfortunately weight loss is not easy. The road is twisty and turny and curvy. It takes us on a roller coaster ride. But if you keep that reason with you, success is right behind it.

I joined sparkpeople several months ago when I was in the middle of big time weight loss. I was over 200 pounds and had all the motivation in the world to start losing, I was logging my food everyday working out at least 4 times a week and I just genuinely felt great about myself and what I was doing. Then I got sick about 4 months ago, I had already lost over 50 pounds and was maintaining my weight so I was really slow to start back up once I started to get better. So over the past few months I'll get motivated and start logging for about a week and exercising for about the same and then I'd get really discouraged for really no good reason and stop. The only good thing is I was still maintaining my weight, so I didn't feel that terrible but a little over a week ago I started to notice my clothes were starting to get tighter but the scale stayed the same so I tried to be more aware of what I was eating but then the scale started going up almost a pound a day. I'm really freaking out because I worked so hard to get here and I know I still have more weight to lose but its going to be hard enough without me gaining this weight back. I really want to start logging again and working out but it seems like I'm stuck I just cant bring myself to do it and I'm so disappointed in myself. I miss how I felt about myself when I was in control and doing everything right...where is that girl?
