There are lots of people on this site with chronic health issues and limited mobility. Find a team. I recommend the Chair Exercise team. I agree about talking to your doctor about what nutrition and exercise are good for you. I'm in pain everyday from my rheumatoid arthritis so I understand about moving being painful. Remember this weight loss journey is a marathon not a sprint. Visit my page and see my slogan...Never Give Up!

"weight loss is 80% nutrition and only 20% exercise"
Whenever you feel discouraged about your exercise restrictions, think about that quote.
I have not been to the gym since 2009 and I am on restricted exercise. (I only walk a couple times per week at a slow pace.)
It's discouraging because I love exercising, but right now I am focusing on getting my nutrition to be more balanced.
Are you in college? Have you joined any teams on here?
1. I would never suggest exercise if not prescribed by your doctor. But what does your doctor or physical therapist indicate about exercise. Are there any movements, or forms of exercise that are appropriate.
2. I know that the lowest calorie range on SP is 1200 - 1550? What is your intake? Are you experiencing weight loss weekly? You may need an assessment by a Registered Dietitian who can better determine your needs with the spina bifida and limitations with physical activity.

Ok! Great! Thank you sooooooo much! I will try that, again thank you so much! :D
To quote something I saw recently and don't remember the source - "People say motivation doesn't last. Neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily."
Sometimes people think you just need to find the right motivational prompt, and you'll be set from there. No. Constantly, day after day, all the time while working towards goals, you need to be daily reminding yourself what you're doing, why, and what you want to get out of this. Nothing "lasts" - so keep working on focusing on your goals and concentrating on positive and uplifting things to get you there.
So you can't exercise? So what?!
Exercise keeps a healthy fit body. Diet loses weight.
Too many people think exercise makes you lose weight. It really really doesn't.
So set up your goals here on spark. Make sure you put your fitness goals at zero if you can't exercise at all. Your given nutritional range will then be what you'll need to eat to lose weight without any exercise. It's entirely possible!
Although depending on what your body is personally capable of, any exercise you can get is probably going to help you physically, more than with the diet. Ie, help you be strong and fit, not just floppy.
