You can not use "bad" and "coffee" in the same sentence. I work night shift, so coffee is a staple.

Stimulates cortisol production - for me that's bad enough

Whew ... I'm glad to hear my morning cup isn't going to do me in :-) I really look forward to it after I work out and shower!

Coffee has some limited health benefits, while tea provides a variety of flavonoids and antioxidants. Both contain caffeine, which should be limited to less than 400 milligrams daily (or less than 300 mg for pregnant and breastfeeding women).

Recommended Daily Tea Consumption: 0-5 servings (0-40 ounces)
Recommended Daily Coffee Consumption: 0-4 servings (0-32 ounces)

personally i dont drink coffee and never have. Caffeine is a drug, but like most it does have some benefits. Not for me I have atrial fibrillation so i have zero caffeine. Decaf tea is about all i can get away with...
i would say if you can keep it to 1-2 8 oz cups a day (not the large mugs....or the grandes at the coffee shops) you should be fine. Might want to run it by your doc.
