I track all of the food I eat on SparkPeople so I check out how many calories I have left to eat. If the temptation is within the range, I just may do it.

I don't eat fast food a lot, maybe once every 2 months, but sometimes I get overwhelming urges
to go to Taco Bell or Burger King or McDonald's or Wendy's. When I do I look up the Nutritional Information for their food. I usually end up at Subway, eating a healthy 6-inch sub. LOL!

Find healthy alternatives. Thousands of old favourites can be modified if your willing to use time in the kitchen. I take a cook book and purchase lean products..
A burger for me can be made with low fat cuts of ground meat, home made dressings and lots of vegetables....
French fries can be changed out for hokaido pumpkin which is a pure non starch vegetable and I can have more of.. Eaten with sugar free tomato sauce..
Ice cream can be exchanged for Greek yogurt with sweetner, vanilla and blended fruits frozen in the freezer- it takes longer to eat than ice as freezes like a rock..

Possiblities are endless- thats how I don't get bored with food.. I experiment alot!

Thank you for your motivational words, I really haven't been too active in the community but I am ready to get involved.

What you're doing is correct. Sometimes, though, you just gotta get through it.

I usually try to distract myself by reading or playing with my kids. I walk away from the temptation because I am really focused on my goal of healthy living!
