I think the answer is unique to every individual. For years, I struggled with unexplained weight gain, bloating, lack of energy and joint pain even though I followed a "healthy diet," counted calories and exercised regularly. It was only by paying close attention to how my body reacted to certain foods that I finally unlocked the key to my health and weight loss. Now I am gluten free and, finally, pain free, energetic and seeing results. Your body will respond when you give it what it needs. So, my best advice is to gather as much information as you can about living a healthy life but then apply only what really seems to make sense for you. And, love yourself enough to make real change happen. It isn't easy, it's darn frustrating sometimes, but totally worth it.
