I'm a firm believer that stress is a neglected aspect of weight gain. If a person can reduce their stress, they'd automatically reduce their waistline. And that's something I'm going to suggest to you. You need to find ways to reduce your work stress. You need to find better ways to cope with stress that don't involve turning to food for comfort i.e. stress eating.
Have you ever considered taking yoga ? Yoga isn't just about being more flexible. A good yoga class can also teach you how to meditate and reduce stress. Studies have shown that people who meditate have lower blood pressure than those who don't.
If you don't want to do yoga, you need to find some other way to vent your stress. Do you have a gym membership ? If so, hit the gym and take a class or hit the weights. Exercise can help a person reduce stress. Have you been exercising ? If not, time to get back to the gym or whatever fitness routine you had.
Many years ago, you decided you needed to make a change. You decided you needed to lose weight. What motivated you back then ? Go back to the basics. it's okay to start at the beginning because it's just like riding a bike. The initial ride may be a little bumpy, but you'll get the hang of it before you know it.
As the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Give yourself credit for all the positive things you do for yourself and don't beat yourself up because you're not perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.
Start looking for ways to reduce your stress. that really will make a big difference.
So Glad Steve that you reached out to Spark. Being honest about what's happening is a big step in getting back on track. A new schedule takes some adjusting. Don't have any specific advice other that to say keep diligent on logging into Spark People. It will click.

Ok, so sometimes we just 'lose it'. Dieting seems to much effort. Tracking what you eat becomes a real struggle and it seems like you can never get back on it. I was there until recently. It's SO hard to just put your foot down and get back to where you were.
But you need to make the choice here and now that you're going to start again. A fresh start, not a continuation of where you were. Because if you look at where you were before and use that as a start line, you're probably going to lose the race before you even begin it.
So, start your spark page up fresh. It's good to see where you've come from but it's even better to set your focus on where you want to go. A fresh start can help you to do that. You'll need to recognise that things that you used to do easily out of habit (choosing healthy foods, exercising etc) are all things that you will need to re-learn. You had to learn them once, you just need to refresh your memory. And then go into it with a positive attitude. You've done it once before, you can sure as heck do it again!

Do you use the phone apps? Those can be SO handy. Take a day you're not working (like Saturday or Sunday) and prep for the week.Cook your lunches and bring them with you. If you typically go out to lunch or have work lunches, get a menu you can take home and make a list of stuff you can eat reasonably without going off track or at least too far off track. Every time I started a new semester in college, my whole program changed because my work load was different and I found that it required different study tactics. The same applies here.
Can you workout in the morning before work? I'm not a morning person, so that doesn't work well for me. But since I'm a night owl, I have no problem going to the gym at 7 or 8, which still gives my body plenty of time to wind down for the night.
Build relationships. Find someone with similar goals and form a buddy system. The goal ticker on the start page really helps me and you can see it from the mobile app. It's a matter of asking yourself WHY do you want to lose it. Sometimes asking the WHY question makes it easier to avoid all the crap. I hope this helps! Send me a PM if you need more motivation.

Start with the basics. You cannot out exercise a bad diet. So, what do you do? Track your food intake everyday, and stay in your calorie range. I lost my first 25 via tracking alone. Lol, the only "exercise" I got was using my brain to make wise food choices.....
As far as the gym, if it is that important to you...well - then you gotta go when you can (busy or not).
If some reason you can't get to the gym, well - go to youtube - every exercise on the planet is there..for free - use the youtube search bar to find whatever you are interested in, and do it in your own home, on your time.

I was doing so well! I lost 110 pounds in about 1.5 years. Last month my life changed a lot. I graduated college and went straight to work for an internship. Between stress from college finals and stress from beginning a new chapter in life, I feel like I've lost my motivation. I have easily gained 10 pounds since I started slacking off last month. I always went to the gym in the morning but now that I'm working 8-5 every day (my first full-time job), I have no choice but to go at night when the gym is crowded.
I've had weeks where I've been "bad" but this is the worst so far. Is it possible to get back on track? I wanted to lose another 60-70 pounds but now it seems impossible.
