I've had hard cinnamon candy before, but I'm not sure if it was sugar free. That sounds like another good choice.
I've never had cinnamon almonds before but I'll look into it. ^-^

besides the teas which are awesome, have you tried sugar free cinnamon candy? it fills the same void, although its not chewy like hot tamales, it still gives you that yummy taste.

It's a lot of sugar that's for sure, LOL. I like cinnamon and get my fix from cinnamon almonds (in moderation).

Doesn't sound like a huge problem, as long as you have a handle on it. Make sure to brush your teeth!!

ok, sidetracking a bit here but thought I'd share a funny hot tamale story :-)

I find those things REALLY addicting too! I always had them in my backpack in college, and my little dog got into them once and ate the ENTIRE BOX!! (yes, big box size!) poor thing was drinking water like mad and her little belly swelled out from the amount of water she was drinking!! Yet... she ate them ALL. Just like a human. Super addicting treat.

I don't know if you are a tea drinker, but there are LOTS of awesome teas out there that have really helped me with some of my cravings. That sounds like a lame substitute, but splenda makes it sweet and flavorful you know?

Harney & Sons makes a delicious tea called "hot cinnamon sunset". Add some splenda and it's like a whole glass of melted hot tamales :-) REally!

Teavana makes an awesome tea blend that tastes like melted girl scout cookies too.

I agree with the preportioning. But maybe you should talk to your bf about it. If it is causing you anxiety, then maybe flowers or a movie would be a better way to make you happy, since that is obviously what he is trying to do.

I love that candy too, but I don't generally go places that sell it, but I get my cinnamon fix elsewhere. I use cinnamon toothpaste, and I drink Good Earth Original decaf tea (which doesnt need additional sweetener since the cinnamon is sweet my itself!).

Do it now; deal with the fear later!

I think if everything else is on track, splurging on a favourite candy once a month is probably not that big a deal.

If you feel out of control, try portioning it up before starting. Separate it into baggies, and allow yourself ONE baggie per day. No more.

Hi,

I eat right and work out five to six days a week. I usually have a couple of miniature candies every month but sometimes my boyfriend comes home and brings me "the big box" sized box of Hot Tamales candy and I am addicted to that candy! I tell myself that I'll have only one serving (20 pieces), but I usually end up eating half the box in one sitting. Most of the time, I have control over how much I eat. (I'm a calorie counter). So far, in almost a year, I've lost 30 lbs with the help of this site/intense work-outs and healthy foods habits. Does anyone know how bad is it to have half a box of this candy (in one sitting) if I only eat it once a month here and there? Can it set back my weight loss for a couple of days or something? And does anyone know of any cinnamon flavored alternatives that I can have? I would greatly appreciate your tips! I love Hot Tamales but I'm tired of feeling guilty for eating so much of it! ^-^
