First take a second to take a deep breath and relax a bit. With that schedule you need it!
My best suggestion at this point is to cook what you can on your day off such as hard boil a dozen eggs, cook a dozen chicken breasts, put on a pot of stew or soup, whatever the food is you like to eat and will eat. Put as many things on to cook at the same time as you can so you are only cooking for a couple of hours while you are doing your laundry and whatever else you need to do at home on your days off. After everything is cooked and cooled portion it out into baggies or containers so you can just grab baggies on your way out the door and have nourishing food to eat. If you keep not eating all day you will have binging as your companion at night. It sounds like you are a nurse you have to have an idea that if you force your body to do without nutrition all day long it will go insane when you let it near food. Good Luck God Bless and thank you for the work you do!

I am sorry you feel miserable, and I must say that your schedule is really hectic! I too have a problem with wanting to binge eat at night. I don't really have a whole lot of ideas, but I can tell you what I do.

I work weird hours too, and what I try to do is get a bunch of fruits and vegetables to snack on when I feel really hungry. Also, I have been paring the fruits and veggies with protein, like cheese and peanut butter. These things tend to keep me going and feeling full when I work my 7-9 hour shifts.

Also, I want to say don't give up! I know it is hard to lose weight and eat right, I spent most of my life being obese and I know how unpleasant it feels.

Here is my blog entry today. Thought I might get more input here. Any is appreciated. (oh and one more thing........another job is not an option, neither are my crazy hours. I am lucky to have one where i live right now and I have to work with what I have!)
I woke up late for work after sleeping 4 whole hours, swung in to Mickey D's for a large tea, chicken club combo, and fries. Inhaled that on the way in. 7 grueling hours later, i had brought nothing from home so in to the vending machines for a salami stick, bag of chips, and a diet pepsi (the only thing I have going for me at this point is the diet pepsi!) I go. Another nurse brought a cake. Of course I had a piece of that too. (a big piece) I am ashamed. Especially with this wedding right around the corner. I don't know what my problem is. I can go all day without eating but at night I am a garbage disposal. Have I tried eating breakfast and 3 square meals a day or 6 small ones?? YESSSSSSSSS.........I just eat more. Here was my schedule this week.........Mon- off, Tuesday 3-11, Wed off, Thurs 7-3, Fri 11-7, Sat 16 hours (3p-7a), Sun 16 hours (3p-7a)...............how on god's green earth to I figure out if it is breakfast, lunch or dinner? In between all of these CRAZY hours my daughter has soccer, dance, vocal, camps, homework (she is 11) I seriously need some advice!! (another P.S. I know I need to cook but some days my 4 hours of sleep takes priority over cooking)
I am truly miserable and my binge eating is out of control. I feel like I am just going to die.
