I am not sure how to message anyone but if you want friend me. I have only $242 a month to buy food and that is needed to feed 2. I volunteer outside of the house 2 times a week and have meetings several other days a month so I have to plan eating at home as much as possible or carrying a snack. I made contact with the group leader of a local sparkspeople group I will see where that leads.

Good to meet ya! I certainly can understand trying to lose weight and become healthier on a budget. I have a whole mess of kids and it IS hard. I read one of these blogs yesterday about how much more food you can get for the same amount of money if you choose healthier fare. Very interesting. Of course it requires more time and effort to put together, (always a catch) but it certainly showed the options available. Also, have you joined one of the teams from around your area? They keep telling me to join some teams. Okay. I have. We'll see. Don't know if all this will help, but it feels good to try. Good luck on your new adventure! You're gonna do great!
My Husband does the cooking but I have turned him on to checking Calories before he makes something as we have about a 500 calories difference on our trackers. Can I ask where you are located?

I want to congratulate you on making this journey. I began my own journey a few years ago and though my pace has been slow I have lost over 100 pounds! You can have success too! I have battled arthritis, fibromyalgia, bi-lateral TKR, a shoulder rebuild, kidney issues, high cholesterol and B.P and a host of other things. Does it make it more challenging? Yes. But it IS possible! Take heart!

I have been on Sparks People for a while then took a break as I was not finding the support I needed. Now I am back and I have introduced My new Husband to Sparks People. We are both trying to lose weight while on a budget. I am trying to find members with my medical issues and that live close by and might even get together for buddy help.
