I've been running about 2-3 times per week (maybe about 2 miles each time) since early November. After about a month, I started to develop pain in my hip flexor (usually just on the right, but sometimes on the left, too) during and after the run. I ran my first 5k this morning and am having trouble just walking. I know that any medical issue should be treated by a doctor, but my question to more experienced runners--does this sound like a common problem among new runners? Maybe I have weak glutes, or a bad running stance? I bought better running shoes and that helped for awhile, but the pain is coming back again.
Any help would be appreciated--I love to run and don't want to stop.
