Thanks for the idea, it's one of my frequently used bookmarks on my laptop! I just can't seem to find a protein source that's high in potassium. Except for Atkins Strawberry Banana Shakes and I'm not really sure there is any real food in those. LOL! Thanks for the support!

Hello and Welcome to Sparks!

Although each person has different goals, you're in great company here. The amount of support and community at Sparks is unlike any other website. (Trust me, I've tried them all!) emoticon

If there is any way that I can help you along your journey, just let me know! I'm always here for friends in need.

Hi Sandy welcome to Spark People! I cannot help you with the high potassium/low carb food. A nutrition tracker might be able to help you. Spark people has one, and there are other sources out there. The USDA has a sight where you can get the nutrition profile of foods
ndb.nal.usda.gov/

Again, welcome to the Spark People Community.

I gained 100 lbs. using an electric wheelchair for about 6 years. I still have the disease (RSD) that led to the wheelchair, yet I exercised my way back to being a bipod. The wheelchair stays in the attic now but I can't seem to get all 100 lbs to fit up there also:) I actually have about 45 lbs left to lose. I tried WW for 6 years, it never really worked for me, but I loved the group support aspect of the program. Even the leaders agreed that the plan alone didn't work for me! I have a very low metabolism, hypothyrodism, and I'm extremely carbohydrate sensitive. I am also very interested in nutrition. I worked as a professional chef before becoming disabled at age 35 with RSD. I would rather have two bites of awesome food than a trough full of crappy food. I've even had a lapband in 2008, but that doesn't work either. I am interested in talking to any Spark members, most especially those who share the same issues and interests that I've discussed here. Does anyone in Sparkland know of a high potassium food that is also a low carb food? Trying to raise my potassium levels while restraining my carb intake. I promise to learn to edit!!!
