I was 54 when I joined SparkPeople and 56 when I came back and started my Spark Program, starting with Stage One. This is a one day at a time program, but if you do the SparkPeople Program Steps, it really does work. I am terribly average, it's the SP program that is extraordinary.
I found logging my foods in the Nutrition Tracker helped me to lose 90 lbs in 16 months! I started at 210 and went to 120. I am 5'1.5" short, lol.
I hung clothing that was too small on my closet door and every time I would get discouraged I would try them on. Week by week they started fitting! That kept me motivated.
Welcome aboard, we really are all in the same boat! Sometimes we can sail right along but sometimes we have to be rowing like crazy!
You can make it happen! SparkPeople really does work!

Welcome to SparkPeople. You have made a huge step toward reaching your goals. This site is amazing. There are so many resources to help you along the way. The keys for me have been food and exercise tracking. They really help to hold you accountable.
Active supportive teams are another huge blessing. We all struggle and having spark friends is an unbelievable help and boost during those times.
The site also has amazing articles to help educate and inform.
Remember it is just one small step at a time that really begins to add up to change.

Welcome I'm pleased you have chosen to share your journey with us all. If you haven't already you may want to look at joining some of the teams that may be interesting to you. Joining a team helps to bring you together with others who share your interests which helps with accountability, motivation, and support.
I am excited to be in the spark group, I am excersing 3 to 4 days a wk, my goal is 5 to 6 days a wk. I am not fan of exercise but I have to say that I am in my 3rd wk of gym membership and i feel some changes in my body and like it . I am tired and achey but is so worth it. I hope to keep motivated .... first -50lbs here I go!
