Thanks AngelCityGal! I will take a look at these items you suggested. I really hope to find a bond with people here! I am interested in finding a team challenge. I live in CO and signed up for a program called "Weigh and Win" that is offered here. They provide some motivational guidance and if you lose a % of weight each quarter you can earn some cash. I earned $45 having lost my 37lbs. Can't beat that! I was discouraged however about their team challenges. As you needed more than one person, I tried to sign up for a challenge with three teams. As you needed to be "accepted" by the team coach...I was disappointed that I was denied by all three I tried to get into! Sigh.

I try to encourage new members to get active in the SparkPeople community! Join a Spark Team or two that match your interests. You will find it easy to get acquainted with folks on Spark Teams. For instance, you can select a Team of Sparkers in your city, or Sparkers who follow a particular food plan (vegetarians, low carb, etc.), Sparkers with a particular health concern, or Sparkers who share your hobbies. Another option is to set up your SparkPage and start blogging. Some folks use the Community Journals. Post a lot on the message boards, especially if you have successes or challenges. You'll soon find that you're connecting with many nice folks here.

This is a great, positive community! Iím glad youíre with us.

Thanks! I am glad to be here and I am worth it! :-) Today I went and walked around a local Farmer's market. Parked a few blocks away even though I could have parked closer. I love this time of year when fresh vegetables are available.

So glad you are here! YOU are soooooo worth the effort! Take the time to look around, learn the tools, find teams that interest you and take good care of yourself. All that is here will become routine in no time.

Hello everyone! I am new to SparksPeople. I created my account in April but haven't started looking at or utilizing the site until now. I've been on an emotional roller coaster for a couple months. Hit at a plateau but haven't gained. I started my weight loss journey about a year ago and have lost 37 lbs. FINALLY out of the 200's! Whohoo! I currently weigh 195 and have a goal of 135 - 145. A long way to go but know I can do it. Just got to get a back on track. I am excited to be here as everyone seems so supportive and it sure helps when you have others to share the journey.
