I'd have to say I agree with Archii. Think about what you did and how you did it, back in 2011. Start slowly with a few small changes at a time. And don't forget to reward yourself along the way. I still reward myself and I've been at goal for while now-- my rewards have more to do with consistency with exercise etc than weight loss. Just don't use food as a reward.

The only thing I could add-- I am not retired, but I work a seasonal job. I work full time in the spring, summer, and fall and then have the winter off. For me, it is really important to maintain a regular schedule in the wintertime. I get up at the same time as if I was working. Eat breakfast, work out on the same time schedule. Get showered and dressed and do my hair, just as if I was going to leave the house (even if I'm not planning to go anywhere). I have a little schedule for cleaning and then I've got projects I want to work on. Could be cleaning out a closet or working on a craft or doing some volunteer work.. Lunch is generally around noon, just like when I'm working. Afternoon "break" around 3. I think you get my point. I do not do so well if I just lie around in my pj's til 10 am pondering what to do; I need to have some structure to my days. I'm not that many years from retirement myself, and I plan to stick to this type of thing after I retire.

Don't beat yourself up because you've regained some weight. This is something that has happened every single member at one time or another. We're all experts at gaining, losing and regaining the weight. Well, that was the past. You can't change the past, but you can influence and change the future.

Do what you did to lose the weight in 2011. Start with some simple changes first. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. As I tell all new members,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was to drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.

Every little bit does make a difference. Also, you're going to have to be much more patient with your body. As you know, the closer a person gets to a healthy weight for their height, the harder and longer it takes to lose those last few pounds. So, be prepared for the long slog. Yes, losing weight is hard work, but you ARE worth all the extra effort !!!

In 2011, I lost 77 pounds, was 6 pounds from my goal. Last year, I lost 4 pounds (all year long). Now this year, I've begun to gain.

I took on some added responsibilities and while I don't want to make excuses, I do know that's when I lost focus. Additionally, I was forced to retire (downsized) and I'm having a hard time dealing with that as well. I worked for so many years, I'm just sort of at loose ends. I'm hoping someone here will have just the right words of encouragement to help me get back on plan.

I know what to do, I know how to do it; it's just the "doing it" that seems to be so out of reach. I now am 16 pounds from my goal; which I really, really would like to reach by the end of the year.

Thanks for any words that might help me get back in gear.
