Due to life, I haven't been tracking. I have continued to exercise, sporadically, but then last week I got the fever back and started working out consistently, and talking walks in the crisp fall air. I noticed that my jeans were feeling a bit tight, so I weighed myself, and sure enough, i was up 6 pounds from my Sparkpeople low. Bummer - so today I am back to tracking and measuring. I'm not sure that I will always do this, but it is a HUGE wake-up call to get back in gear, to keep the calories reined in and to remember that exercise alone is not enough for weight loss, but it sure makes me feel good physically and emotionally.
I think the thing to do is just start with the water- then add back in the things you know work.
Tracking food is the ONLY thing that has worked for me to lose weight, especially in my belly. I am a believer.
Today's excuses are tomorrow's regrets dressed in disguise.
If you eat crap, you feel like crap and that makes you want more crap.

I tend to go through cycles during my weightloss journey. There are times I can hit it hard and do tons of right things. Then I go through spells where emotionally and physically I need to back off a bit. The important thing is to not give up altoghter. Keep the right attitude and continue to fight for yourself and your future. Find new motivations, emphasize something you've slacked off on. Find a new excercise or investigate new foods or recipes. It's all investments toward yourself. Congrats on what you've already accomplished!!

100% agree that going back to your "fast breaks" and getting a handle on the basics like examining how much you are eating, moving 10+ mins/day, giving and getting support here, and drinking water, will all lead you back to a good routine.

Start small; aim to measure just ONE meal a day. Once you've mastered that, measure two. Then three. Keep going until you're measuring your food again.
Add up the amount of money you would spend on blood pressure medication in a month or a year; that's how much you're saving by getting out those measuring cups! Now put that money in a jar and buy yourself something awesome!

Congratulations on coming off your blood pressure meds, that's a HUGE health benefit !!
I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you were to do for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
As the old song goes,"Accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Give yoursel credit for all the POSITIVE things you do for yourself and don't beat yourself up because you're not perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.
Take baby steps literally and figuratively. Every little bit really does make a difference.

I feel great. I have lost 25 pounds, off my blood pressure pills. But I'm slacking on measuring foods, watching what I eat and not drinking enough water. Sounds simple, I should be able to fix the problems, but I have lost my drive. How do I get it back? What should I do?
