Change up your exercise, add strength training. Sometimes your body just needs to adjust. I call it "being more stubborn than my fat". I hit a plateau and just kept working my program and after a few weeks weight started coming off again. It isn't coming off in great big numbers, but it is coming off. Keep up the hard work!!

That's great to hear! I can't wait to get that treadmill. The only reason that the actual number on the scale matters to me right now is because I am participating in the biggest loser competition at work and I want to keep losing and not come to a complete standstill.
Thanks!

My husband is in the same position, so he just quit weighing himself. He is really starting to enjoy working out, and likes the way he feels, so the weight doesn't matter to him. We have been exercising together for a month and a half.

Discipline is just choosing between what you want now, and what you want MOST.

I'm on week 2 of my Couch to 5k program and it's awesome! I think it's great for busting through plateaus because you have to keep pushing yourself the whole way through.

Thanks, PRANA_DANCER. I am hoping to get my treadmill this weekend so I can start a "couch to 5k" program. I'm hoping this helps.

Unfortunately, weight loss is about more than calories in/calories out. As we consistently do an activity, our bodies get used it and find easier and easier ways to do it. This efficiency means we're technically burning fewer calories than what calorie calculator estimate. That's why it's important to vary what we do. Throw in some strength training, some yoga, or a dance class to change it up and you should be able to break through this plateau. :)

Your happiness is up to you. Whatever happened in your life to make you who you are up until the point you realize this is irrelevant. It is your responsibility now to take control and change your life to be what you want it to be.

Energy and persistence conquer all things. Make time, not excuses.

I have diligently been tracking my food intake (including sodium) and have not gone over my calorie range (1250-1500) since I started and have not lost for two weeks. I am getting frustrated. I religiously drink more than 8 - 8oz glasses of water daily. I walk at least a mile a day at work and then at least another mile after work. What on earth could I possibly be doing wrong??? The calorie deficit alone should have me losing at least a pound or two a week. emoticon
