I don't call it a diet at all. It's a lifestyle change really. I still eat things that I like but I treat myself to them. The key is moderation! Start small and set goals for yourself like working out 30 minutes today or drinking 8 glasses of water and then go from there.
I would suggest joining some sparkteams to help motivate you and keep you on track. Or find an accountability buddy.

The thing I like best about sparkpeople is you do not have to settle for one spark friend. We join teams and end up with people who are supportive who live close and I had some spark friends who live in New Zeland and Africa...HERE ARE SOME LINKS THAT MIGHT HELP GET YOU EXPLORING THE SITE.
Check out people's spark pages and start sharing, It is so much better to have many people to help especially on a site like this where we can be in any time zone in the world....

Hello and Welcome to SparkPeople!
I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come! * Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!
This 62 year old lady has been trying to lose weight all her life, and came across this site. I know sticking to any diet will work. I guess I just needed that extra boost. and hope to find that extra help though sparks people site. My starting weight is 274.6,and when I'm finish I hope to weigh 175.6. I retired this past January, and try to keep busy, and even volunteer at the Healthy living center at the local "Y".. I'm hoping to find a friend in my same predicament. I just can't seem to stick to any diet. If anyone has found an answer that helped you stay with it, PLEASE let me in on the secret. I wish everyone luck on their journey to their goal..
