WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Hello there! First day on the site, hopefully the beginning of a new chapter. I want to be healthy too, and have been battling losing the "baby weight" for almost 9 years now. I got down to my lowest post-baby weight of about 150 about 2 years ago by exercising and doing Weight Watchers, only to become a vegetarian this past year and gain back almost 20 pounds (darn those carbs). I'm ready to shed it again for good! This looks like a great community with a lot of resources. So congrats on putting yourself first again, and I can't wait to hear more about your journey.

Hello! My name is Kristy. I'm a 31 year old wife, mother, environmental educator and admissions assistant at a Botanical Garden. In 2007-2008 I was a part of Sparkpeople and started to train to run. Then I got married, moved multiple times, switched jobs, graduated with college at a late age and had a baby. Needless to say, the running ceased and I put myself on the backburner. I lost a lot of baby weight and then discovered in the last two months I gained 20 lbs of it back. My lifestyle has to change and I rejoined to start Sparkpeople's running plans. I've started with the 5K Your Way Rookie Running program. My goal is not to necessarily lose weight, although that would be fabulous. My ultimate goal is to run a half marathon down the road and record my weight loss as I go. Wonderful to be here and can't wait to meet all the Sparkers!!!!
