Howdy and welcome to Spark People! I have never thought gastric surgery was the easy way out!!! I think the challenge of lifestyle change is there for every single one of us no matter what method we start with. You still must put one foot in front of the other and learn a LOT in order to change your life forever. Hope the site and the support help make your journey a success.

You’ll get where you want to go as long as you are taking more steps in the right direction than the wrong one.

I wanted to drop in and say hello. I'm a 43 year old Mom of 1 and in October of last year started on a major weight loss journey.
I know many people (or so I have been told by many) may think I've taken the easy way out, but I know I haven't... On April 25th of this year I had gastric sleeve surgery. This is not a miracle cure, I have to add diet and exercise or even this won't work for me... As I said my journey started in October of last year when I first saw my surgeon, I weighed over 400 lbs, on the day of surgery I weighed 396 lbs, my last weigh in was on was on May 7th and I weighed in at 376 lbs. 20 lbs down since surgery. My outlook on food has changed, my outlook on life has changed. I am a type II diabetic, I have high blood pressure and asthma... since surgery I haven't had to take any of my diabetic medications or any of my blood pressure medications.
I am doing my best to get healthy to live a long life and see my son grow up and one day get to spoil my grand children if GOD so blesses me with any.
I hope to get to know everyone and hope to inspire as you inspire me!
