WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Hello and Welcome,
Congrats on losing 27 lbs. so far. Great job! You will find lots of support and motivation here. Members are really friendly and knowledgeable. SP has plenty of tools to help you reach your goals. A couple of great tools are the Nutrition and Fitness trackers. Another great way to stay motivated and accountable is to be active on your Spark Teams.

Welcome to Spark. You have taken an important step on your journey by joining! I've been a member a little over 3 years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained a lot of the pounds back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going! Explore the site, make your Sparkpage if you havenít, join teams, and make friends. You will find this site an amazing place full of encouragement, inspiration, advice, and support. We are here to keep everyone motivated. Iíve found that the best source of motivation on spark is posting, asking questions, and finding new friends that are in this together. We are all on this journey of a healthy live style, so your not alone in this. People need someone to believe in them. They need to know that if they take that first step out of their comfort zone, someone will be supporting them all the way. With small words of encouragement, with just a little extra time, that someone could be you. In some cases, others may just be unaware of their true abilities and potential. I joined on May 29 but am just getting around to this board to say hello...I'm 40 yrs old, divorced, mom of one (already out on her own) and am an admitted emotional eater and food addict...I just really want to get this weight off once and for all so I can be on the outside the person I am on the inside...Being 40 yrs old, I don't have much more time to get this weight off and enjoy being healthy before I keel over dead from heart attack, major stroke or diabetes...I've already had a minor stroke due to stress...
At my highest, most disgusting weight, I hit 356...I was in a narcissistic abusive marriage and just finalized my divorce May 10th...I suffered from severe depression during the marriage and think I've finally gotten the upper hand on it...So far, I've lost 27 lbs on my own prior to joining SparkPeople and now I look forward to losing alot more with the tools and support here...I'm 5'9" so in a perfect world 170 lbs is where I'd like to get, but honestly if I can get under 200 lbs I will be happy because I have always felt and looked healthy under 200 lbs...
I would love to have some spark friends to stay motivated and communicate with...Please add me as a spark friend and we can motivate eachother!!!
