Welcome to SparkPeople!

I know it shows that I’m a newbie as well, but I’ve been a member of this site off and on for years… and it’s still the one and only ‘diet’ I truly trust and believe in.

The best advice I can give you is to utilize this site as much as possible. Read the articles, join a team, use the nutrition and exercise tracker, but most of all, interact with all the other amazing members on this site. If you have a question, ask… I know someone will have an answer and be more than happy to help you.

Hi, everybody, my name is Marilyn, from New Jersey, I am 60 and very mad at myself for letting myself go so badly that now i am so terribly overweight. I had always been healthy, thick, but never this size, In 2006 had pneumonia very, very bad, it took at least 18 months before i felt halfway back to normal, but by this time the damage had been done, because i so much short of breath all the time, developed COPD, a doctor told me, "just face it, your running days are over". I was devastated and distraught. I thought i was dying. I felt like I was dying. I could hardly move. I let myself go and gained all this weight. It's just been since this past year or so, thanks to Nopalea juice, that I was able to get some energy back and feel alive again. Now I have to fight to get rid of this weight. Mostly my stomach. I think it is hugh and ugly. It is always in the way and terribly hard to get rid of.
