Hi there everyone. I am 38 years old, a happy newleywed of 3 months, and looking to lose weight. I was on this site a few years back, and found it to be helpful back then, so here I am again. Its great to get motivational tips, and stay connected with others, that are going through the same thing. There's so much more involved with "weightloss", than just "losing it" and its great to have support along the way.

Thank you everyone for responding and by the way, did I say that I was 51. Yep. and I lost 30 pounds before but I gained it all back through stress, and nursing school. I want to do the right thing and I want to lose it all!

I've been a member a little more than two years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained 30 back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going!

Hi I'm Tawunya. This is my first time doing this. I have Type 2 diabetes. My mom had Type 1 and my dad had Type 2. Both parents are now deceased. One 8 years after the other one. Sometimes I become afraid that I will die just like them. I don't want to. I want to change things. I want to be healthy. I have no small children, all adults. I have a very busy life 40 hours of work, newly married, school and church. I want to be successful. I could never figure out why I worked so hard at exercising and couldn't lose any weight. I'm not on insulin yet but if I don't get my blood sugars under control I'm sure they are looking to do something. Oh well that's my life. I want to lose 40 pounds and I can see that logging on and tracking my foods is really helping!
