Well, since I am starting to get a bit more serious about my exercise and losing weight, I looked into them alot yesterday online. I found that the Polar FT4 is really really accurate and people seem to love it, so I trusted them and bought one. I got mine for 70 bucks at bodytronics.com. It came with a 2 year warranty, so if all goes wrong, no worries. I know thats a little out of your budget, but I was reading really, really good things about it all over.

I can send you the link if you're interested(:

I have the polar FT4 which comes with the chest band and I don't have any issues. I don't know how accurate one would be with just the watch. Good luck on your search and share what information you find out.

I bought a garmin watch for my husband last year that has a chest strap monitor. I reviewed the monitors that are in the watches and heard they aren't accurate and hard to get consistent readings when sweating and moving around. He loves his and said it didn't take long to get used to and hardly notices it when running or biking now. I'm sure technology has improved since then though and others may have had better luck than the reviews I found online.

I am considering getting one that is a watch style to go with my zip. Are they ok, accurate, semi accurate? lol I would like to wear it only for when I am working out. I found a few under 50.00 (my budget right now) and wondering if they are worth it or if I should just stick with what SP estimates and my fitbit zip. Thanks in advance.
