Dids, more power to you for finding the time to make your own milk. I find that using one or the other (milk or protein powder) works fine for me, although, I generally go with the powder.

I don't do dairy, so I use either avocado or 1/2 banana for the creaminess. Having done a smoothie for breakfast for the past three years, I can attest that recipes though ok for ideas, i just don't follow them. I have a cold pressed, green fed Whey protein powder that i use sometimes, I make my own almond milk or just plain water will suffice. I use lots of greens such as spinach, chard, collards, dandelion greens, kale, romaine, broccoli, carrots, cukes, peppers, sometimes a green juice powder since it has the wheat grass. You can't put wheatgrass in a blender. It won't blend.
I use every fruit imaginable-- apples, pears, mangos, persimmons, every berry imaginable, banana, pineapple, plums, cherries, dates etc.

Find the flavors you like. Add a serving to 1/2 a serving of several of your favorites and whirl away. Add just enough liquid to make it to the consistency that you want.

Sometimes I even put mine into the freezer and eat it like ice cream.

The only healthy almonds milks I know are the ones you make yourself or the 365 brand from Whole Foods or the Trader Joe brand. Neither have casein or carrageenan which are both not good for you.

You can also add coconut milk but I wouldn't buy a store brand. Get it from the cans, not cartons. Add coconut meat as well.
For additional flavoring i may add different extracts, nut butters or a small handful of nuts.

Don't be afraid to experiment.

How about starting with Greek Yogurt for the thick, creaminess (flavor or your choice). Also a good source of protein. Then add fruit/frozen fruit. Add enough almond milk for the desired consistency.

You can pretty much do whatever you want, there's no rule that says you have to use almond milk or protein powder or both or neither or anything. Find any recipe you want and add protein powder. Replace milk or water with almond milk. You're set.

Weight loss isn't about "a recipe", it's about what and how much you eat throughout the day. A smoothie is great for getting veggies in, but isn't always filling on its own. I have to have my smoothies with something 'solid' to eat or else no matter how much I drink, I just don't feel full or satisfied.

There are literally thousands of smoothie recipes on the internet, but maybe your breakfast doesn't need to be replaced? What are you eating currently? What are you eating the rest of the day?

It's great you want to improve your health, just remember that all your food goes into healthy eating, it isn't just about one meal or one recipe. :)

Hello everyone! I am new to Spark and I wanted to start replacing my breakfast with a tasty yet healthy smoothie. I don't know where to begin and trying to research online i just couldn't find what i am looking for. Maybe you all can help? I would like to be sure the smoothie has Almond milk and a protein powder in it. Or, do i only want one or the other? I can't find the recipe page for Spark either lol.. Any recipes from you all that have worked with weight loss would be much appreciated, thanks so much!
