When you make the rice, swap part of the water for chicken broth. Or maybe add a little bullion.

For the salads you might find that the easiest thing to do is to set up a "base salad" recipe on the Spark Recipes side, and then use the "recipe modification" button to make the changes each time that you make it (save the changed one as "today's date salad"). I do that with my salads, omelets, casseroles, etc - since I'm apparently incapable of making something the same way twice!

As for the rice, that is a matter of personal preference. I would think that if you took your favourite recipe and used brown rice (or a mix of brown and wild rice), and added in some extra veggies (chopped tomatoes, onions, peppers) that it would be good. If you put your recipe in to the SparkRecipes side, then you get to determine what a reasonable cooked serving size is (most recipes seem to go by 1/2 cup cooked)! I prefer to do it by weight, so I will put the recipe together based on a guess of 4 or 6 servings, weigh the entire finished dish, and do the math as to how many grams a single serving would be and edit the recipe accordingly.

I have not looked in the recipe archives, so this may have already been answered, but I'm looking for a healthy flavorful brown rice/Spanish rice dish and also what a cooked serving size of it is!
The other thing is, does anyone else have trouble tracking their salads?! Mine are never quite the same and I can spend tons of time trying to set up a 'group' listing only to use a couple of different things the next time. Any help here?
