I am absolutely ecstatic that my knee is no longer bothering me! I toured Marvel Cave with over 700 stairs and my knee didn't even give me the slightest yelp! With my knee back in business, that means I can get back to exercising the way I want and start shedding these pounds! I hit up the grocery store, and as usual, the majority of my shopping cart was fresh produce, along with some dried beans and a few dairy products (I'm addicted to Greek yogurt!). Now for my healthy idea today:
I need to get my SMART goals set! Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Trackable. I currently do not have any SMART goals set for my health, and if I'm going to see changes I need to jump on this idea and get moving.
Healthy Ideas for today: Going to work on getting the house organized. By organizing the house it will make it easier for me to make healthy choices by having healthy options at hand. I can organized the kitchen, my recipes and I can set up a work out area. I will procrastinate less by having the areas I need to work clean and clear.
Okay, I couldn't find my old community journal, so I'm starting a new one! This will be a record of the healthy ideas that work for my family and my situations (which seem to be constantly changing). Current situation: need to get a 2 year old and a 4 year old active 30 to 60 minutes a day. I need to get my own exercise in for at least 10 minutes a day. Obstacle: I am under Dr orders to do minimal ambulation, and my knee can't tolerate much more than daily house chores and cooking.
Girls exercise tip #1: Inflatable swimming pool. They will play for hours and it expends a lot of energy for them. I can sit outside and put my knee up while watching them. Girls exercise tip #2: House Dance Party. Girls can dance to the music while I sit on the couch to "sit dance" with them. Girls exercise tip #3: Red Light, Green Light. I can sit in a chair inside or outside, and the girls can have fun learning to follow directions, and get active. Girls exercise tip #4: Mother May I. Similar to Red Light, Green Light.
My Exercise tip #1: seated bicep curls with dumbell. My Exercise tip #2: seated tricep curls with dumbell. My Exercise tip #3: Crunches My Exercise tip #4: Crunches with a twist.
