hi everyone!

I recently started a blog aimed at anyone who wants to eat delicious and healthy food! None of my recipes include processed foods and better yet, my picky eater boyfriend loves every single one of them! =]
Many of my recipes are unintentionally vegan. I'm not vegan but vegan recipes tend to be very healthy so as it turns out many of my meals are vegan!

Start looking at various vegan Indian & middle eastern& African cooking videos on Youtube - there is a whole wonderful world of vegan/vegetarian cooking beyond beans and rice. With all the videos out there plus international ingredients available through Amazon, the world is at your fingertips.
I added this link to get you started - I could go from one recipe to the next and watch all day.
There are several different dals. Google dal and read up on them
I love chana dal - (please note, this is NOT the same thing as yellow split peas - channa dal is essentially polished chick peas) and there are many many different recipes that use it. It is the most popular, widely used pulse in India and Pakistan. I make a thick, spicy soup/stew and serve it over basmati with roti. Tip - basmati rice only grows in Northern India. In order to keep insects out of the rice during storage and shipping, it is coated with talc, so always rinse basmati several times until the water is no longer milky looking before you soak and cook it. Have fun!

baked beans and chickpeas on wholemeal toast with steamed spinach...
jacket sweet potato/yam with homemade hummus instead of butter, side salad of chopped cucumber, onion, tomato, avocado and a few chopped walnuts.

Eggplant Pizza, Cashew/Brazil nut gravy made with liquid aminos over buttered toast, Veggie soup with crackers, Check out Linda McCartney's vegetarian cook book. She has a recipe for a vegetarian roast that I adore. How about Hay stacks? Fun and a yummy change of pace. I could go on and on.

The roast recipe and gravy are my favorite. You can also make an eggless quiche.

Looking for some new recipes that are vegan, and warm and hearty for this arctic weather we are having. Done the lentil loaf, stuffed peppers, roasted veggies, pasta and bean dishes etc to death. Something new would be sooooo nice! Thanks!
