Learning to say NO is a good place to start. Another useful IMAGE is that of the instructions given about oxygen masks on a plane. The instructions remind you to put YOUR mask on FIRST because if you do not, you will not be alive to HELP your child or friend. Think about taking care of yourself in terms of that - if you do NOT take care of YOU, you will not have anything left to take care of anyone else. Pick and choose what you will do for others. Sometimes it is OKAY to say, I would love to do that but I am going to have to say NO this time (you do NOT owe any explanation, but if you feel like you MUST give one, make it as simple as possible and with no way the other person can argue that you SHOULD or COULD do it - something like, "I would like to be able to say yes but I already have an appointment at that time" You don't have to lie, the appointment is with yourself - you are entitled to it.
Without knowing your situation, it's hard to give more advice, but that's what I thought of first.
Whether it's saying no to people outside of your family who are asking for your help, or saying no to those in your home and in your immediate family, a little "no" sometimes can work.
I said "no" to my 10yo daughter last night who needed a new sheet on her bed at bedtime and she didn't tell me about it until bedtime. To my surprise, she went to the closet and got her own sheet, made her own bed, and came to me to receive praise, which I poured on her. (After my initial guilt for saying no in the first place.)
Let the people around you who are being to dependent or reliant on you to do their own things for themselves, and don't feel guilty about it. Find your YOU time. :)

It seems like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and everyone has me doing everything for them, and i can find no time for myself any help tips on how to build up my motivation to stick with it, still help everyone but find time for me! ?
